When is the best time to find a new therapist?

Finding a new therapist can be a bit challenging but there are some times of year when it’s easier. The hardest time to find a new therapist who has openings (or has openings that work well for you) is usually around January or February (plus or minus a few weeks).

For kids and teens, it’s hardest around Jan-Feb and also in the fall, about 4-8 weeks *after* school has started.

That means that later in the spring (end of March or April) thru the summer is almost always the easiest time to find a therapist. So if you have been on the fence about doing it for a while, now is a great time to get started.

TLDR: Late spring thru summer (April thru early August) is usually the easiest time to find a therapist who has openings that work for you.
